چکیده
Low-stiffness or compliant materials are inherently difficult to characterize in terms of dynamic mechanical properties. Their free-vibration behavior is not frequently analyzed, given that performing classic vibration testing these type may imply the tampering results by external sources, either changes geometry sample, gravity-induced buckling, instrumentation itself (e.g., mass accelerometers). This study proposes an approach determine frequency response types materials, using a noncontact methodology based on acoustic excitation and displacement measurement Laser Döppler Vibrometry. The detailed method be optimized changing sample design into half-cane configuration increase stiffness. significantly increases eigenmodes, facilitating their pressure source. Numerical analysis values Young’s modulus from experimental approaches validates overall procedure. It shown combination numerical proposed possible route for determination inverse engineering.

Acoustic-Laser Vibrometry for Standoff Detection of Defects in Materials
Standoff methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) offer flexibility over traditional methods of inspection which typically require physical contact with the material being measured. The benefits are that difficult to access locations can be inspected and measurements of a large area can be made more quickly. Acoustic-laser vibrometry is a robust standoff NDT technique for composite materials, s...

15 صفحه اولVariation of Localized Nonlinear Acoustic Parameters around a Crack Tip by a Laser Doppler Vibrometry
A nonlinear acoustic effect is a sensitive tool to detect a micro-scale crack or early stage of cracking during the fatigue process. The damage produces a nonlinear stress-strain relationship, and the nonlinearity can be measured by a higher harmonic component in the frequency domain. The greater the damage, the larger the level of a nonlinearity, which can be used for the diagnosis of micro-cr...

Characterization of silicon micro-oscillators by scanning laser vibrometry
The dynamics of single-crystal silicon ;100 mm size rectangular paddle oscillators at room temperature have been studied using a recently developed high-resolution scanning laser vibrometer. The dynamic mechanical behavior is determined by scans of the entire device, providing both amplitude and phase spatial maps of the vibratory response. These reveal more than 16 normal modes below 500 kHz. ...
